Caorle is no more than about 60 km from Venice. Organising a day trip to Venice is very easy. You can choose between the boat, the bus or your own car.
With Motonave Caorle you can board every day from the old fishing port. After about two hours sailing along the coast you will land at Riva degli Schiavoni, a few steps from St Mark’s Square. An exciting, fascinating trip by sea!
By bus, A.T.V.O. offers a combined ticket that also includes the water bus from Piazzale Roma: cheap and interesting!
With your own car you can drive to the nearest railway station, San Donà di Piave, San Stino or Portogruaro (less than about 28 km), and take the train to Santa Lucia station, recommended at the busiest times… Carnival!
Or you can drive to Punta Sabbioni, where there is plenty of parking (watch out for unofficial parking attendants), and take the boat to Venice, perhaps via the islands of Burano, Murano and Torcello… very picturesque!
There are several options and everyone can choose the one they like best; we recommend the sea routes, which give you a unique thrill as you arrive by water.
Once in Venice, the usual signs will point you to the landmarks: St Mark’s Square, Rialto, etc.
Step by step, lane by lane, you will discover the charm of an open-air museum. The most visited city in the world, original and unique, is waiting for you: from Caorle you can visit one of Italy’s jewels during your seaside holiday.
For any tips or advice, ask the owner of the hotel, agency or campsite where you are staying: they will be happy to help.
